Sketchwalk drawings from saturday at the Tanjong Pagar railway station
Sketchwalk drawings from saturday at the Tanjong Pagar railway station. These were mostly drawn with bic ballpoint pen and a watercolour pencil (red). Water was added with a waterbrush. Top picture was with black ink, pen and watercolour. I was lazy to draw the trees and building properly. That's why I resort to such loose styles.

Result of last Sketchwalk
Thanks Don for the picture. We, the sketchers were at the Tanjong Pagar Railway Station last Saturday morning making our presence felt with our pens and brushes. This exterior view was drawn on folded watercolour paper of 200gm/sqm and fountain pen with Noodler's ink. See the interior here.

We will meet at Tanjong Pagar MRT control station this Saturday at 9am. And start walking toward the old train station at 9am sharp. Please call Tia at 96968080 if you have any questions.

Teo Chew Muay @ Tiong Bahru
Talking about excitement, you know us Singaporeans, we live to eat, therefore this is really the art of displaying the dishes before the customers who patronize the stall. I commented the same thing to the chef, "Wow, these are really colorful and lively". He said in a matter of fact tone of voice,"So to attract customers, and you too to draw it." Then he laughed. These people are passionate in what they do!!

I made my first video clip
The secret is out. My friends and students are circulating the first video clip that I made today using iMovie with the raw files taken by Carol - my friend who followed us to most of the sketching adventures with her camera. Enjoy!

Row 81
Block 81 at Tiong Poh Road, Tiong Bahru. The sky was still bright so I drove down to sketch after the conference ended at around 6pm at the near-by Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. It was a quiet neighbourhood.

Kluang

This is a cute little stall next to the Kluang Railway Station. It sells really good roti prata - round and compact, about 12 cm thick solid, complete with egg. The kua (gravy) is slightly sweeter than those in Singapore.

Tia's Tools of Art
I am always fascinated by what other artists are carrying when they go for sketching trips. On the left is what Tia would be carrying when she goes all out to for location sketching. Sometimes she would just be carrying a Hero pen while times like this, she would be heavy duty. Well most of the time, I carry with me a huge case of pens and brushes which I don't use normally. I would only draw with my Lamy fountain pens and then applied light washes over it sometimes. But it feels good to carry so much stuff just in case you need it all of a sudden when you feel inspired to do something different. I will take a pic of what I carry next time.
