Junction of Ann Siang Hill and Club Street
150mm x 210mm. 135gsm pad, watercolours, pigment ink. This was a difficult one to capture. The pencil sketch was done in an hour in the drizzle but there were slight problems with the proportions which had to be corrected much later on. The ink work was done in Spinelli's at China Square minutes after. (I had to escape the drizzle that afternoon).

the yellow corner shophouse stands out well. Nice. If the grey shophouse has a lighter tonal values, the contrast may be greater and the foreground will stand out more.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tia. I was debating between taking liberties with the original colours for added impact or accentuating the lights, shadows and colours. In hindsight, you are right if I had increased the contrast between the two.
