Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri

120818_ACM

120818_ACM_photoWatercolour is not allowed in the museum, only pencils/pen. I added some quick shades to record the lighting before our show and tell and went back to the museum to add more lines. Darker watercolour shades were then added at home. I also added the stories on the artifacts in the sketch plus the entry sticker which read "Treasures of the Aga Khan Museum, Architecture in the Islamic Arts". With that, I wish all my Muslim friends Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri!

last page of my moleskine

I did a skyline sketch on the Sky Park at 57th storey the first time I was at Marina Bay Sands and a watercolour piece on the same skyline the second time I was there. The third time I did this sketch after a hearty breakfast at the Rise Restaurant on ground floor instead of the topmost floor. It was also the last page of the Moleskine. I also tried a different ink - Noodler's Peranakan Brown.

Kelvin's House @ Tiong Bahru

This is my friend Kelvin's walk-up apartment at Tiong Bahru estate. The house feels very comforty with antiques, paintings and books placed everywhere. This is the kind of 'organised mess' that I like.

This sketch of my lamp was done with my 2 new watercolours paint I bought from Art Friend. Quinacridone Gold by Winsor&Newton and Helio Blue Reddish by Schmincke. They were very velvety and very brilliant colours.
