Wheelock Place

150mm x 210mm pigment ink sketch. Copic markers, watercolours, 135gsm paper. One Friday night a few weeks ago, I sat down outside Wheelock Place after browsing at Borders and sketched this in pencils and then in ink. A touch of watercolours was introduced later.

  2. I like the mood in this... especially the sky, quite unique.

  3. ooh nice. orchard road structures aren't very easy to draw nicely. Because of all the many windows and repeated shapes. This is nicely captured.

  4. Don, the warm greys of the Copic markers W3 and W6 seem to give this effect.

Tia, thanks. It was drawn around 11 pm on a Friday night after my regular browsing at Borders. The streets were not particularly crowded.

Andrew, Thanks. I am still trying and as you have said the road structures at Orchard Road aren't easy. I am still stumped after fifteen years, having drawn that place on and off over the years.

    Thanks Rin!
