Sketching Dragons in Chinatown

In conjunction with the Lunar New Year and the 34th Worldwide Sketchcrawl Day on the 21 January 2012, some of us from the Urban Sketchers Singapore group headed over to Chinatown to capture the festive mood on paper.

And here, I have attempted to capture my sketching process on video, which was entirely shot, edited and posted with an iPhone 4, together with the iMovie application.

Hope you'll like it!

  1. Really beautiful dragons. And I loved watching you create them.

Curious what pen/marker you are using. It didn't look familiar and seems to be water proof.

    Thanks.

  5. Thank you very much, Ontheroad, Steph, Donna and Tia!! :)

Ontheroad, for the ink parts, I used Artline 4.0 Calligraphic Pen for the thick black borders, and Baoke ballpoint pen for the sketches' linework. Both are smooth and flows easily on paper, and are waterproof!

Steph, there is always some sketch walk going on every other day in Singapore, so join us if you can! :)

Donna, I agree! I love watching videos of artists at work, and hope to share back with my little effort here. :)

Tia, hope the Lunar New Year is good to you and family too! ;)

    Cheers
    Edric
