Urban Sketchers Singapore x Capitol Singapore
Hello sketchers! This month we have TWO special collaboration sketchwalks with Perennial Holdings at CHIJMES (18 May) and the Capitol (25 May) in conjunction with the Singapore HeritageFest 2024 (https://www.sgheritagefest.gov.sg/?gad_source=1).
For the second sketchwalk on 25 May, we will be visiting Capitol Singapore (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capitol_Singapore). The front facade of the Capitol Building anchors the junction of Stamford Road and North Bridge Road across from Raffles Place. Once known as the Namazie Mansions, it now houses the Capitol Kempinski Hotel (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capitol_Building,_Singapore). Right behind it is the old Capitol Theatre, one of the grandest theatres in Singapore in the 1930s.

9.30am: Welcome brief
9.45am: Start sketching!
1215pm: Start packing your things and make your way for Show & Tell
12.30pm: Show and Tell at Capitol Singapore Outdoor Plaza

Instructions for the day:
1. Make your way to the location, be aware of surroundings, and maintain necessary distancing.
2. Challenge yourself to explore hidden corners that hasn't been seen/drawn yet; this will also help prevent too many of us crowding the same perching points.
3. Post your sketches, snapshots and videos online — ๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐ก๐๐ฌ๐ก๐ญ๐๐ ๐ฌ #๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ค๐ฌ๐ — so everyone can easily find the day's artistic output.
4. Some sketch leaders will go around to catch you in action for posts on Facebook and Instagram, so look out for them!
